RAFAEL ANGULO

About Rafael Angulo

For me the role of the artist is to create that which does not already exist.

My paintings are reflections of my entire being.

With a determination to fight boredom I always allow for elements of surprise.

I feel individuality alone makes me feel at home-uniformity, never. On the same note I feel the more personal a creation, the more universal.

My paintings come from the initial reaction to profound experiences. Being very generationally driven, to me there is an overbearing rancid elegance that stems from My beliefs that beauty is also disorder.

With all this in mind I orchestrate paintings of an emotionally charged nature, encompassing an energy that holds its roots in the traditions of modern art, while commenting on several disciplines.
